Mindful Monday Week 30

Break

Hi, Thinking Out Loud here :D

Welcome to Mindful Monday Week 30

Here is the link for this week's playlist. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3HuTCqsn92Vap9o4ty5h1N?si=ead7499e7879412d

I hope you enjoy listening whilst you read, and I hope you find the music relaxing.

If an ad plays, please stop reading and wait for the playlist to play again. The playlist will be timed for you to read to the end of this blog post, with maybe one song running over after reading.

Get a drink, maybe even a snack, and find a comfy seat so you can relax. Let go of all worries and enjoy the next five deep breaths. Please prepare for the first breath in by breathing out.

Now time for your first deep breath; take one deep breath in through your nose for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. Breathe out through your mouth for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1... Breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1... Breathe in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1... Two more to go; breathe in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1... Last one deep breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1... now go back to your regular breathing pattern. I hope you feel calm and relaxed.

Today I want you to listen to your body. What is it telling you to do?

Mine is telling me to rest, so I am currently writing this post in bed on my iPad whilst I take a semi-break. 😂 (the first time I've done an emoji in a blog post. Let me know what you think about them being used in blogs, I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I think I will keep this one in to see what you think. Let me know in the comments.) My body has actually been telling me to take a break for most of this week (the week that I'm writing this), and I did take a one-day break. I thought that was enough, so I went back to writing, but it seems my body wants a bit more of a longer break. I also hadn’t done yoga for a few days, I did my first session yesterday, which was a Thursday for me, and it felt nice, it was short, slow and just what I needed, but today I now don't feel like doing yoga, shows what a difference a day can make.

I know once this little break is over, I will be back to myself and back to walking, yoga and writing. I fell off the early night train, so I think I need to get back on it as I have noticed a difference when I have an early night (11 pm) compared to a late night (1-2, sometimes even 3 am) which really doesn't do for me, damn those pesky YouTube videos that make you want to watch them. 😂 (I think I don't mind using emojis, but please do let me know if you do or don't like them in blogs.) With an early night, I feel like I can get straight out of bed and concur whatever happens in my day and find I don't need a break after a few early nights, whereas I do when I've had a few late nights which I admit is my own fault again though I'm looking at those pesky YT videos that pull you in, of course, I’m joking, I love watching YT, I just need to plan on getting into bed earlier so I can watch them and still get an early nights sleep, so my body naturally gets more of a rest and a break instead of screaming out to me in one way or another that it needs a break.

It's funny how our bodies tell us it's time to take a break; for some people, it's an ache here or there that lets them know they need to slow down. For others, it's a lie-in or an early night; for some, it can be a little bit more serious. So listen to the signs you notice in your body. If you've been noticing it for a while, take this as your sign to have a break, slow down, have some water, and take a rest; it might be longer than you think, and when your body is ready to get going again, it will let you know.

I'm not a doctor, so in no way can I give medical advice, and I don't intend to give medical advice, so if something doesn't feel right, whether it's just started or hasn't felt right for a little while, go and see your doctor, it's better to get something checked than waiting for it to get worse, this might also lead to you needing to take a break.

Please leave a comment below about how you are going to take a break and how you are listening to your body, please only share what you want to share, and if you do go and get anything checked at the doctor, I wish you well and good luck for an all clear exam. Please remember not all comments will show as they do get moderated. I am only one person and read all comments, so please be kind.

Let's finish with a three-deep breath breather.

Take one deep breath in through your nose for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1..2.. Breathe out through your mouth for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1... Breathe in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1... Final breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1..2.. Last breath out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. No hold here; you can now go back to your regular breathing pattern.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read this week's Mindful Monday. I really do appreciate everyone who takes the time to read them and listens to what I have to say.

Love always

Thinking Out Loud xx :D

Take a seat, have a break and take a load off of your feet while your body takes the time it needs to relax.
