Introverted Me

I am an introvert,
I am quiet,
I am shy.
I listen to what everyone says, but rarely say anything
I over think conversations, in case I said something wrong
I rehearse what to say in my head before I go anywhere
constantly going over it before it is said
I over think every second of my day,

right down to what I'll do before I go to sleep.
I am an introvert,
I am quiet,
I am shy.
I am also loud,
I am also strong,
I am also learning,
learning that it's OK to be me
learning that no one is perfect

but that you are your own kind of perfect.
I am an introvert,
I am quiet,
I am shy.
I am happy with who I am
I am happy with what I do
I am happy with being an introvert,
I have friends who are extraverts, and for them I am thankful
I am thankful for when I need help in public when it gets too much
help when I can't find my words and they can
I am grateful that they understand.
I am an introvert,
I am quiet,
I am shy.
It doesn't mean I don't have a voice
I have one
I just choose when to use it.
It can take me a while to find the right words
sometimes it's easier than others
other times I don't speak because the conversation has already moved on.
