Mindful Monday Week 24

Trust

Hi, Thinking Out Loud here :D

Welcome to Mindful Monday Week 24

Here is the link for this week's playlist. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4RYrNCrgFH9dRa2bdwzWuo?si=b6703c00ba6a4a6c

I hope you enjoy listening to it while reading, and I hope you find the music relaxing.

If an ad plays during listening to the playlist, please stop reading and wait for the playlist to play again. Hopefully, the playlist will be timed for you to read to the end of this blog post, with maybe one song running over after reading.

Get a drink, maybe even a snack, and find a comfy seat so you can relax. Let go of all worries and enjoy the next five deep breaths. Please prepare for the first breath in by breathing out.

Now time for your first deep breath; take one deep breath in through your nose for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. breath out through your mouth for five 1..2..3..4..5.. Hold for 1.. Breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1.. Breathe in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1.. two more to go; breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1.. last one deep breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. And out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1.. now go back to your regular breathing pattern. I hope you feel calm and relaxed.

It's been a couple of weeks since I uploaded a Mindful Monday, I’m sorry it wasn’t an intentional break, but it's one I am glad I took. I hope this reminds you to take breaks when you need them, don’t keep going when your body is telling you to stop or slow down. This leads perfectly into today's word trust. I started this blog post nearly three weeks ago before I took a break; oops, I’m glad you can finally get to read it.

This word came to me just before I sat down to write; I was trying to think of what I could write about all day and what word or words could be my idea, then trust the universe popped into my head, and I knew then that I had to use trust as my word.

It’s funny how things work out. I’m sure we’ve all heard the saying, “Ask, and you will get.” The universe provides for us when we ask it for things. It takes time sometimes, but if we trust what we have asked for, anything is possible.

Though we can’t only trust the universe for what we have asked for, we need to trust ourselves that what we are asking is possible and trust that when we are given what we are asking for, we will have the time and space in our lives, sometimes we ask for things, and the timing isn’t right, so we lose what we have asked for. Everything has a time and place; that's no different when we ask for things; just because we’ve asked doesn’t mean we will get them when we want them or think we need them. More often than not, we get things when the universe sees fit, when we need the thing the most, and when we least expect it.

Have you ever lost something, tried looking for it, and ended up practically tipping your house upside down looking for this one thing that you must find, but when looking, you don’t find it. Then months go by, and you no longer need this thing you were looking for, but you look in a random drawer or cupboard, and that thing you spent hours looking for is right there in front of you in plain sight. If we put a thought out or the idea of the thing we are looking for, if we just have a little trust in what we want to find, sure enough, it will show up in its own time.

A few months ago, this happened to me, I have recently got back into playing/learning guitar, and for the life of me, I couldn’t remember where I had put my picks as it has been years since I have needed them due to moving around and not having time to play, or having a guitar to play. My first thought was, “oh no, they're in one of the many boxes in the garage” I had a picture of where I had last seen them from when I was a teenager. The thing that I had remembered them having a home in had been moved out of my room years ago before I went to Australia the first time that's now going on five years ago. Before ransacking the boxes, which had only just been sorted through a few months prior, I looked around in my room through drawers and boxes I thought might have little things in them. It’s safe to say I had no look in my room, so I looked through a blue box in the kitchen which has anything and everything in there, bits of plastic, string, bag ties, rubber feet, magnets, literally everything, it’s very much my families equivalent of a messy drawer; however, there were no guitar picks, I looked through more drawers all of which didn’t help me.

I then stood, thought for a bit, let the thought go for a few minutes if that, then I went into the main room where a big desk is with a hidden compartment where underneath elastic bands, staples and paper clips I found my picks. I trusted in being able to find them; I trusted in somehow knowing where they would be. I had, of course, already looked in the place but not well enough the first time.

So like me with my picks, whatever you are looking for, ask, trust and let the idea go; soon enough, you will find what you have lost. It might not happen as quickly as it did for me, and that's ok; some things will take longer to find, but don’t stop trusting in what you have asked.

Perhaps there is something big in your life that you are asking for, be patient, let the thought go and trust that everything you are doing is moving you towards the thing you have asked for. Remember something you will need to be more patient or work harder to get it.

I hope what you have asked for brings you happiness and fills you with so much joy. Please let me know in the comments when you get the thing or things you have asked for.

Let's finish with a three-deep breath breather.

Take one deep breath in through your nose for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. breath out through your mouth for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1.. breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. and out for five 1..2..3..4..5..  hold for 1.. final breath in for five 1..2..3..4..5.. hold for 1..2.. last breath out for five 1..2..3..4..5.. no hold here you can now go back to your regular breathing pattern.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read this week's Mindful Monday. I really do appreciate everyone who takes the time to read them and listens to what I have to say.

Love always
